- History of the Antlers
In 1871, General William Jackson Palmer founded the city of Colorado Springs. His vision was to create a posh resort community featuring a luxury hotel and tree-lined boulevards. Thus, the first Antlers Hotel had begun welcoming guests in 1883.
Nestled in the shadow of majestic Pikes Peak, the Antlers soon became the center of the community and the benchmark for future hotels. Over 100 years later, the third rendition of our historic ancestor, The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel Colorado Springs still maintains its prominence as the hotel leader in Colorado Springs.
Colorado Springs is a picture-perfect city with a wonderful combination of mountains and city. There is so much to do while you’re here. Be one with nature as you ride The Pikes Peak Railway to the top of the peak for spectacular views. Home to over 4,000 cadets, the Air Force Academy is one of the most visited destinations in Colorado. In addition to breathtaking mountain surroundings, The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel Colorado Springs is also located amongst beautiful downtown tree-lined streets. You will be amazed at the number of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues that are just steps away from the hotel.
